The Ache of Magic is a darker fantasy series of fae, dangerous power, desire and choices that refuse to stay simple.
Saoirse’s life changes when she discovers that the magic others take so easily does not behave the same way in her hands. What begins as survival quickly becomes something far more complicated, pulling her into a world of fae, old secrets, shifting loyalties and people who want very different things from her power.
At the centre of it all are Lucien and Thane — two men tied to Saoirse in very different ways, both capable of unsettling the careful boundaries she tries to keep in place. Caledorian is a land divided between human territories and the older Fae lands beyond them, where borders matter, influence carries weight, and magic is woven into everyday life in ways humans do not always understand.
Beyond Briarhame and the familiar roads of the human settlements lie forests, rivers, upland valleys, ancient estates and powerful Fae houses whose authority can matter as much as written law. Here, houses are built around old trees, roadside shrines carry beads and feathers, and the Fae themselves are as varied as the magic that shapes them.
It is a world of old customs, hidden routes, dangerous power and uneasy boundaries — beautiful, unpredictable, and far more complicated than any map suggests.
